What types of knives do you sharpen?
We sharpen a wide range of knives, including:
- Chef’s knives
- Paring knives

- Japanese knives (e.g., Santoku, Nakiri)

- Outdoor knives (e.g., camping, fishing)
If you’re unsure about a specific knife, feel free to contact us for clarification.
Do you sharpen weapons or combat knives?
No. We do not sharpen swords, military knives, or any blade designed primarily as a weapon.
We are happy to sharpen practical-use knives—such as kitchen, fishing, and camping knives—and we can restore ceremonial or collector items for display purposes (not sharpened to a cutting edge).
Why? Because we believe in supporting responsible knife ownership and public safety. Our focus is on tools designed for cooking, craftsmanship, and everyday use—not combat.
Do you repair damaged knives?
Yes. As a knife maker, I can perform repairs that many others cannot, including:
- Tip restoration
- Chips and dents removal
- Blade re-profiling
- Handle repairs or replacements
Each knife is assessed individually to determine the best course of action.
Do you sharpen scissors and other tools?
Absolutely. We sharpen:
- Kitchen and household scissors
- Tailoring shears
- Hairdressing scissors
- Gardening tools (e.g., secateurs, loppers, shears)
- Woodworking tools (e.g., chisels)
- Lawn Mower Blades (if you can remove the blades yourself, we can’t take the whole lawn mower due to practical reasons!)

How does the in-person sharpening service work?
For customers in London:
Book an appointment online, or contact us in whichever way you prefer to book – phone, Whatsapp, email, smoke signals…
We arrive at your location with our fully equipped mobile workshop.
Most sharpening jobs are completed on-site within 20–30 minutes.
No need for you to provide any equipment or access to your home.
No need for you to prepare the knives or wrap them in any way, we have purpose made knife holders to collect them
How does the courier service work?
For customers across the UK:
Book the service online.
We provide packing instructions and a shipping label.
Send your knives via InPost or any tracked courier service, we will find the best option for you based on your location.
We sharpen them upon receipt and return them to you within 2–4 working days.
We will be in touch all the way through to keep you updated on status and to ensure we pick the best option and time slot for delivering your knives back to you.
What is the turnaround time?
Domestic Sharpening (London): It depends on the number of blades and whether repairs are needed, but for regular sharpening, we aim to return a batch of 5-10 knives in less than 30 mins.
Courier (UK-wide): we turn your blades around in one working day from when we receive them – so typically expect 3-5 days overall depending on shipment timings.
Is there a minimum charge?
Yes.
Domestic Sharpening service: £25 minimum callout charge. Rest assured this is just a minimum spend, not an additional charge.
Courier service: No minimum charge; you pay per item.
What kind of items do you not sharpen?
Some Industrial machine blades, circular saw blades, band saw blades – if in doubt please reach out and ask!
Weapons (e.g., swords, katanas, combat knives)
What areas do you cover?
Mobile service: London and surrounding areas.
Courier service: Available throughout the UK.
How should I care for my knives after sharpening?
To maintain the sharpness of your knives:
- Use a strop or polishing tool before or after use to hone the edge, restore smoothness and performance, and extend the lifespan of your edge.
- (This is more effective and safer for the edge than honing rods for most users.)
- Hand wash only (even for corrosion resistant knives) — dishwashers pressure plus chemicals will ruin edge.
- Dry thoroughly with a cloth; never air dry. Especially important for carbon steel but good practice with stainless steel also.
- Store knives properly — use a magnetic strip, slotted block, or simple guards (even homemade paper sleeves work well!). Don’t let them rattle around in drawers.
- Avoid misuse — don’t use knives for opening boxes or anything other than food prep.
- Cut on the right surface — end-grain wooden boards or soft plastic boards help preserve the edge.
