No Weapons Policy

At Sharp Matters, we do not sharpen weapons — but we do offer restoration and non-sharpening services for collectors, professionals, and historical items.

What We Won’t Sharpen:

We do not provide razor-edge sharpening for any item designed explicitly for combat, including:

  • Swords

  • Daggers

  • Combat knives

  • Bayonets

  • Military or tactical blades

We take this position seriously out of respect for UK laws, safety concerns, and the values of our business.

What We Can Do:

We are, however, happy to provide services for:

  • Collector’s items (e.g., ceremonial swords, antique blades, display pieces)

  • Restoration of rusted, damaged, or incomplete blades (without sharpening)

  • Handle repairs and refinishing

  • Cleaning and presentation preparation

  • Service for eligible professionals (e.g., military, police) who are lawfully in possession of functional blades as part of their occupation

These services are strictly non-sharpening unless there is a clear, lawful, and legitimate professional need.

Case-by-Case Review

If you’re unsure whether we can service your item, please contact us before booking. We’re happy to assess images or discuss the context — our goal is to be respectful, responsible, and helpful where we can.
